Aims:
The bed bugs are sub-social insects. As such, they use complex system of pheromones for orientation, intraspecific communication, and defense. We focus on adaptive function of pheromones in orientation in space, especially towards the host. In past, we studied the differentiation of odor as a possible pre-copulation isolation mechanism between the common bed bug lineages, specialized on humans and bats.
Methods:
Arena tests, infrared recordings.
